SummerLife RECHARGE 9/2/09

Wow! September already. This week we will meet once again, by popular demand, at the Gunnison Mtn. Park, located 3 miles north of Almont in Taylor Canyon. If it is your first time to the park, don't be fooled by the first entrance, continue another 1/4 mile to the second entrance. As long as the weather holds, we will try to continue our outdoor meetings through September. That means starting the fire a bit earlier, but this has been a wonderful time together.

This week we will begin by sharing a few testimonies about what God has been doing and saying in our lives. After that, we will take a look at Psalm 103, and discuss the question, what is the difference between God's acts and His ways?

See you there at 7 pm.

SUMMERLIFE RECHARGE 8/26/09

THERE WILL BE NO MID-WEEK FOR THIS WEEK ONLY. We will begin again next week, on September 2nd, back at the Gunnison Mountain Park in Taylor Canyon. For the month of September, we will not be bringing the grill, but we will plan to have a campfire each Wednesday evening. Come and enjoy some beautiful Fall evenings, and the Word of God. See you there.

SUMMERLIFE RECHARGE 8/19/09

Recharge fans,

The Gunnison Mountain Park is once again open for business. We will be meeting there for Bible Study tomorrow night at 7. As the evenings are growing shorter (or the nights longer, or something) we are getting into prime campfire season. So we will plan to have a fire after our study time tomorrow night. If you want to bring marshmallows, or do smores, that will be the time. Any spell checker that does not know the word "smores" should never have been released!

I also wanted to notify you that we will not be having a midweek study on Wednesday the 26th of August. We will continue our outdoor meetings for as long as we can, hopefully right through September.

See you tomorrow night.

Change of Location for Tonight

Hey There Summer Life/Recharge Fans!

I took a quick drive up to the Gunnison Mtn Park today to check on rumors of it being blocked off. The rumors are true, apparently due to a controlled burn taking place in that area.

Let's meet up tonight at McAbes Lane instead. Check out the maps to the right if you need directions.

I've got some firewood and great thoughts on meditation - it'll be great - SEE YOU THERE!

EMERGENCY WEATHER ALERT!!!

Sorry guys, but I think it's going to be really ugly at the lake again tonight. It is already raining, thunder and lightning, and 26 to 38 mph winds out there. The shelter there just isn't that good, as we discovered last week.

So we will be meeting at the church in the Alcove at 7.

See you there,

John

SummerLife - Recharge 8/5/09

Well, everyone is enjoying Iola Picnic Area so much, that they wanted to meet there again this Wednesday. Last week was a little wet and windy, but maybe this week will be better. We will plan to do our study on "Hiding The Word In Your Heart" for sure this week, then have a bit of a fire and maybe Karen will lead a little worship. How 'bout it girl?

As always, Karen and I will try to arrive at the area by 6:30 so that those who want to use the grill can do so. The swimming is pretty good down at the end of the old boat ramp. Our Bible Study time will begin at 7 pm. See you there!

DIRECTIONS:

To get to Iola Picnic Area, you may want to take a look at the map in the right-hand column on this page for Blue Mesa’s East Shore. To get to Iola, follow the directions to the East Shore, then simply continue on highway 149, past the East Shore for a little more than a mile. After you pass mile marker 115, Iola is about ¼ mile on your right.
